Pro and the free trial
How do I restore Pro on a new phone?
- Sign in with the same Apple ID you bought Pro with.
- Open Shardz, go to Profile and tap the purple Free plan card (it says Upgrade).
- Tap Restore purchases.
If it says no purchase was found, check that you're signed in with the right Apple ID in Settings, then try again.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Apple handles subscriptions, so you cancel in your iPhone's settings:
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Shardz.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for.
When does the free trial charge me?
Monthly and Yearly start with 7 days free. The Pro screen shows the exact day the first charge happens, and Shardz reminds you the day before the trial ends. Cancel before then and you won't be charged.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the Shardz purchase.
What's free and what's Pro?
Free: search, every price and chart, your whole collection, backups, the trade calculator, and 20 scans a day. Pro adds unlimited scans, scanning several cards at once, graded prices, vendor mode, spreadsheet export, every share style, gainers and losers, and unlimited folders, price alerts and tracked sets. Every Magic card's data stays free.
Your collection
How do I back up my collection?
Your cards are saved only on your phone, so make a backup now and then:
- Go to Profile › Data.
- Tap Export collection.
- Choose where to keep the file, for example Save to Files (iCloud Drive) or AirDrop to your computer.
The file includes every folder, your wishlist, price alerts and goals.
How do I move my collection to a new phone?
Export a backup on the old phone, as above. On the new phone, go to Profile › Data › Import collection and pick the file. Cards you already have aren't added twice.
How do I show prices in my own currency?
Go to Profile › Currency and pick yours. Prices are converted from US dollars at the day's exchange rate.
The scanner
It doesn't recognize my card, or picks the wrong one
- Use even light without glare, hold the card flat, and fill most of the frame.
- Switch to Accurate mode at the top of the scanner. It shows the closest matches so you can pick the exact printing.
- Make sure that game's card data is downloaded: Profile › Downloads.
- You can always find the card in Search and add it from there.
Why does the scanner want to download data?
The scanner recognizes cards on your phone, so it needs each game's card data: about 22 MB for Pokémon, 7 MB for One Piece and 106 MB for Magic. On mobile data, Shardz asks first or waits for Wi-Fi.
I ran out of free scans
Free scans reset at midnight. The card you scanned last is still saved. Pro has no scan limit.
Prices
Where do the prices come from?
Mostly TCGplayer market prices from JustTCG, updated about every 12 hours, with a price for each condition. Graded prices come from JustTCG (TCGplayer market data) and show their date when they're old. The full list is in Profile › Data › About the data.
Why is a price different from a shop's?
A market price is an average of recent sales, not one shop's asking price. Check that the condition (NM, LP…) and the printing match, and remember that converted currencies move with the exchange rate. Prices are estimates and not financial advice.
A card or price looks wrong
Write to us with the card's name, set and number (on the card page). A screenshot helps.
Privacy and your data
Do I need an account?
No. There's no Shardz account. Your collection stays on your phone. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Everything the app keeps is on your phone. Clear it in Profile › Data, or delete the app. To remove your email from the website's waitlist, write to us.
